My lifelong love for animals and my own caring for people and their needs has laid the foundation to provide the best quality in canine and feline care.. My experience for the past five and a half years caring for animals and building great relationships with both the pet and owner has been my inspiration to start Outward Hounds. Pet care is not only a service for the pet but also a client service business which requires trust and responsibility and unconditional love for all animals.

My mission is to do whatever it takes to keep your pet happy, healthy and safe. While I have fun doing what I do, I also take the responsibility very seriously.

At Outward Hounds I treat your dog/cat as my own, because they really do become a part of your heart. I will strive to meet your dogs /cat needs and surpass your expectation so when you are away you will feel secure in knowing your dogs/cats are being cared for while they are with me.

I am a member of National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS). Outward Hounds is licensed, fully bonded and insured.

Health and Safety Tips!

General Health Make sure your dog’s vaccinations are up to date, especially since dogs tend to stay outdoors longer and come into contact with other animals more during the summer months.

Keep dogs off of lawns that have been chemically treated or fertilized for 24 hours (or according to package instructions), and away from potentially toxic plants and flowers.

Keep your dog well-brushed and clean.

Fleas and ticks, and the mosquitos which carry heartworm disease, are more prevalent in warmer months.

Ask your veterinarian for an effective preventive to keep these parasites off your dog. The AKC Pet Healthcare Plan can help with the cost of providing quality healthcare, including preventive medicine, throughout your dog's life.

With Spring on its way (we hope), and those little pesty bugs start arriving, please make sure you have protection for your pet. We don’t realize with snow still on the ground the first thaw brings out those sleeping nuisances.

Many of the frequently-planted spring-flowering bulbs are toxic, most particularly lily-of-the-valley, daffodils and tulips. Autumn-flowering bulbs such as Colchicum are also highly toxic. If you have a digger, it's best to avoid these bulbs unless they are completely inaccessible.

Beach Tips Dogs, especially those with short hair, white fur, and pink skin, can sunburn. Limit your dog’s exposure during the day and apply sunblock to his ears and nose 30 minutes before going outside. Running on the sand is strenuous exercise. A dog that is out of shape can easily pull a tendon or ligament, so keep a check on your dog’s activity. Do not let your dog drink seawater; the salt will make him sick. FRESH WATER
